More Luke & Bex Please!

Jun 27, 2008 Author: bigbro | Filed under: Luke, Rebecca

Is it just me or does anyone else think the most interesting couple in the house are Bex and Luke?

Forget the Jenn, Dale, Sylvia & Stuart love square. Bex and Luke are far more entertaining with their witty, and often brutally honest, banter.

The clip in last night’s show in which Bex and Luke were doing there washing together was pure genius.

Let’s see more of this please producers!

I Think They Need A Bigger Jail

Well after my post last week about not using the prison cell for Alex, the show producers have been banging housemates up left right and centre.

First up, no sooner had I posted about the jail not being used (wonder if anyone from BB reads this blog?!), Bex got sent there for opening an envelope - bit crap that one!

Second, Rex and Mohammed were incarcerated for talking about nominations.

Finally, Dennis and Darnell were locked up, also for talking about nominations. The timing of this smacked as a crude attempt by BB to sabotage the task, but they pasted anyway.

So the prison has been more overcrowded than Wormwood Scrubs on a good day and looks set to be used a lot more if the housemates keep being naughty.

My improvements on the prison for next year would be:

  • Make it a proper cell so that other housemates can’t bring them
    food/clothes etc
  • Make the inmates wear prison clothes
  • Make the inmates eat prison food provided by BB

Alex Kicked Out

Jun 19, 2008 Author: bigbro | Filed under: Alexandra De-Gale

Does anyone else think “about time too”? In the series where producers were supposed to be taking a zero tolerance approach, Alex got away with just two warnings for her overtly aggressive and bullying behaviour.

The final straw appears to have been veiled threats to Mohammed relating to her “gangster” friends outside the house.

A fitting end for such a selfish fool - if only she had been kicked out quicker or punished properly by Big Brother earlier - a missed opportunity to use the prison if ever there was one by producers.

p.s. yes, it’s been a bit quiet here since the show started, I was waiting a few days to form opinions of the housemates before posting but then things went mad at work! Hopefully more regualr posts to follow now though…

Pre-Launch Big Brother Betting

Jun 5, 2008 Author: bigbro | Filed under: Big Brother Betting

Pre-launch betting on Big brother is always a bit tame. Markets such as “gender of winner” offer little interest and no value at all and the interesting markets such as eviction and winner can’t be priced up until after the launch and the housemates are known.

As usual, Paddy Power has a good range of novelty bets available (you can find them under Novelty Bets > Big Brother). As above, most of these markets offer poor value in odds terms, but, they can add something to launch night.

One thing that did catch my attention were the odds on Jade Goody to enter the house - a scarily short 10-1!!

Pre-launch, I prefer a bet based on the lauch show to add a little excitement to it. Powers are offering markets on gender of first entrant (a bit dull) but the one I like is “What cliche will Davina use first?”. There’s s few choices, but “Are you ready?” seems decent value at 10-1.

If you’re having a launch night party, why nold your own sweepstake on this? A pound in each and chose a random phrase. Winner takes all.

Does Anyone See the Sick Irony?

Jun 2, 2008 Author: bigbro | Filed under: General, Housemates, Rumours

The Sun are claiming that there will definitely be a blind housemate this year:

…host Davina McCall, 40, will walk one of the contestants to the house.

She will escort the show’s first blind housemate — a man — from his vehicle to the steps of the house. Security guards will then take him inside.

A blind person in the year they make the show’s logo a broken eye? Does anyone else see the sick irony there?
